Riot Games has disqualified Polish League of Legends player Syzyf for 12 months from all Riot-sanctioned tournaments. The ban follows an investigation into suspicious betting activity around two Rift Legends matches on February 19, 2026. Syzyf’s team, Onion Team, lost both matches 0:2 against Barcząca Esports and Forsaken.

The case was reported by a Riot Games integrity partner on February 24, 2026. Riot commissioned Sportradar to investigate, including analyzing betting data and interviewing Syzyf. The investigation found no intentional match-fixing by Syzyf but confirmed he allowed a close relative to bet on his matches. Article 4.15 of Riot Games’ Global Code of Conduct prohibits such actions, holding professional esports players accountable for their relatives’ betting.

Riot Games initiated disciplinary proceedings on June 29, 2026. Syzyf responded in writing on July 3, 2026. Mitigating factors included his cooperation, admission of discussing matches with his relative, and remorse. Aggravating factors included coordinated bets through multiple new accounts for maximum allowed amounts and Syzyf’s awareness of the betting ban for close relatives. The decision is final and not subject to appeal.
