Valve released the City Never Sleeps update for Deadlock on September 30, introducing major changes to the game. The update brought a secret shop called the Broker that appears briefly to sell cursed items.

Six new characters were announced: Nurse Harrow, Violet, Baba, Rat King, Solomon, and Deadman Danny. Players can vote in a pre-match lobby to determine the release order of the new heroes. The first new hero is scheduled to appear on October 3, followed by two hero releases per week.

The map received a massive overhaul featuring new areas like Broadway, Times Square, and the Umbria University garden. New map elements include monsters such as Specimen, Past Dues, and Gutter Ghouls, alongside vents and heavy weapon crates.
