Valve has expanded with a brand-new pet chicken system. Players can now obtain eggs through bids in the Armory instead of direct purchases. Each account is strictly limited to owning one pet chicken at a time.

Eggs hatch approximately one week after players win them, featuring a case-opening style animation. Once hatched, the growth system progresses through four distinct stages: egg, chick, pullet, and hen.

The update features three adult hen breeds known as Catalana, Silkie, and Polish. Each chicken displays a unique colour variant determined by a seed, creating 42 possible visual combinations.

Players should note that these pet chickens cannot be traded, sold, or transferred between accounts. All obtained chickens remain permanently bound to the original account.
