Brazilian football club Corinthians faces financial fallout totaling over 2.8 million reals, roughly $520,000, across 30 separate lawsuits linked to its former esports division.

In 2022, the club licensed its brand to CDS E-Sports e Entretenimento Ltda. to run rosters in Free Fire, CS2, and VALORANT. While the partner company assumed responsibility for player salaries, payment delays mounted between 2024 and 2025, prompting Corinthians to terminate the agreement in August 2025.

Reports indicate that courts have ruled Corinthians partially liable for debts in 10 out of 13 completed cases, with 17 additional lawsuits still pending resolution. Although the $520,000 figure represents the full scope of active claims rather than a final verified debt, the club maintains that financial obligations remained entirely with CDS under the original contract. Corinthians plans to pursue further legal action and seek damages.
