FiReSports CEO Rodrigo Figueroa Reyes stated in an interview with Dust2 Brasil that the Major у Сінгапурі might prompt changes to the major sticker sales system. Valve previously altered the system by introducing direct purchases of individual stickers instead of random capsule openings. This new model reduced payouts to teams and players by nearly three times compared to the previous structure.
Reyes hopes cooperation between tournament organizers and Valve will restore previous conditions ahead of the championship in Buenos Aires in 2027. He noted that PGL owner Silviu has close ties with Valve, which could help improve the situation. FiReSports remains in constant contact with Valve and plans to address the future of the sticker model immediately after the event.
“I think they will try to sort out the sticker issue already in Singapore. Silviu, the owner of PGL, has very close relations with Valve, and I am sure that together with Valve and Steam he will be able to improve the situation,” Rodrigo Figueroa Reyes said.
