pma discussed Natus Vincere‘s tactical issues following their playoff matches at the EPL Masters II. The offlaner admitted that the team frequently struggles during the opening stages of their matches, creating unnecessary pressure. Natus Vincere faced significant difficulties against Klim Sani4 in both the upper bracket semifinal and the grand final of the tournament.
According to the player, underestimating the opponent might have caused them to drop a map during the series. For the first map of the grand final, the squad deliberately tested an experimental draft since they had a three-map cushion in the Bo5 format. Coaches since the Natus Vincere Junior era have continually emphasized the need to fix early-game performance and improve mid-lane support synergy.
“All the coaches since the very beginning of NAVI Junior have said and keep saying: mechanically we can comeback in the late game even from a 40 thousand gold deficit, but we would be priceless if we also crushed the early game,” pma said.
The roster is currently focusing heavily on ironing out these early-game mistakes to maintain proactive control from the very start. Resolving these recurring tactical flaws remains a top priority for the team moving forward in upcoming events.
