Valve has addressed criticism about tied matches in CS2’s Premier mode by proposing a penalty shootout series. The new format would determine the winner through 1v1 duels between players from each team, matched based on their positions in the results table.

The order of duels would be random, allowing top players to face each other in later rounds. The rest of the team would watch their player during each duel, with the first team to win 3 out of 5 duels securing the match victory.

Changes in Premier mode often influence the esports scene, and this proposal aims to make CS2 more dynamic and engaging for viewers.
