G2 have signed Ukrainian AWPer r1nkle and reached the playoffs of Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris. The team’s head coach sAw explained the transfer decision, stating that the team needed a more aggressive AWPer than SunPayus.

According to sAw, r1nkle’s aggressive playstyle is expected to bring a new dynamic to the team. He believes that r1nkle has the potential to become a more complete player, although the Ukrainian may initially struggle due to lack of experience at the highest level.

“SunPayus is a good player, but I think we need something more aggressive, because we have other players who are a bit more on the passive side,” sAw said.

The coach also noted that r1nkle is a young, aggressive sniper with excellent mechanics who can also play with rifles and pistols. However, he admitted that the team needs time to adapt to r1nkle’s aggressive playstyle.

“He is a young, aggressive sniper with great mechanics who can also play with rifles, I would say, very well with pistols and other weapons,” sAw added.

“I think he will probably be unstable for some time,” sAw concluded.
