FACEIT announced that Vertigo will return to CS2 matchmaking in Season 9 starting August 5. The decision follows a community vote where Vertigo received 97,421 votes, outperforming Train (64,744 votes) and Overpass (49,900 votes).

Matches on Vertigo will now affect Elo ratings, giving players another competitive map option. Players can also remove Vertigo from their map pool without needing a subscription or changing other map bans.
