Ukrainian player cairne recently shared insights regarding his career transition and the choices that led him to Ninjas in Pyjamas. Initially, the player turned down an offer from the Swedish organization because he believed strongly in his former lineup TNL.
“When NIP wrote to me and invited me to the team, I agreed at first, but then on the same day I said: ‘No, I will play with these guys from TNL, because I believe that we have a stronger team and we can do anything at all,'” cairne said.
Doubts about the team’s ambitions arose during an official match when a teammate questioned the goal of reaching top-tier competition.
“Then we were playing some official game, and one of the teammates said: ‘Why should we play in tier-1 if we can play in tier-2?’, and I got kind of upset,” cairne recalled.
This mindset clash deeply influenced his decision-making process at the time.
The turning point arrived through an extensive conversation with Ninjas in Pyjamas captain Snappi. A three-hour discussion about returning to tier-1 dominance ultimately convinced cairne to accept the offer. He later represented Ninjas in Pyjamas from January to July 2026 before eventually moving on to fnatic.
