Team Liquid analyst and CTO Ben Noxville Steenhuisen reported a record monthly player activity in for August. The game reached 8.88 million unique users during the month, which is the highest figure since tracking began in 2023.

Data was collected directly through the Valve API, although three months of data were missed during the tracking period. Noxville noted that the exact criteria Valve uses to define an active user remain unclear.

“I have been tracking active Dota 2 users monthly since 2023. Based on data collected directly through the Valve API, last month was the best during this time at 8.88 million,” Noxville said.
