This change comes as FalleN steps down from the role on these maps due to difficulties he has faced. YEKINDAR, who has been a secondary speaker, is seen as a more effective leader for these specific maps.

“This change is largely related to the maps where FalleN has faced certain challenges. Given the positions that Marek occupies, it makes sense for him to take on the role of captain for the CT side-he fully controls the game from the CT perspective,” sidde said.

The team believes this shift is organic and will benefit their strategy. YEKINDAR will focus on CT side control and T side coordination, leveraging his strategic vision for these maps. The move is part of FURIA’s efforts to optimize their performance ahead of the Esports World Cup 2026.

“The main reason is that on these maps, he is currently the best captain for our roster,” sidde added.

With this change, FURIA aims to strengthen their gameplay and adapt to the evolving meta in competitive CS2.
