The playoffs of the OTM Kyiv 2026 will no longer be held in LAN format due to damage caused by a Russian attack. The tournament lost its Valve Ranking System (VRS) status, meaning it will no longer contribute to the official world ranking of teams.

The original venue suffered damage, including some of the prepared equipment for the event. Organizers explored alternative locations and equipment solutions but ultimately prioritized participant safety, opting for an online format despite the loss of VRS points.

LAN format will return in the future, and organizers remain committed to hosting offline tournaments when conditions allow for safe execution. VRS points are crucial for team rankings and influence invitations to major tournaments.

“The LAN final was supposed to take place in Kyiv, but the tournament location was damaged due to a Russian attack. The strike caused damage to the venue and some of the prepared equipment,” the organizer stated.

“LAN format will return. We are not abandoning LAN in Ukraine and will continue working on offline tournaments when circumstances permit safe conduct,” the organizer added.
