HUASOPEEK of 9z has claimed victory at the XSE Pro League 2026 held in Guangzhou. Alongside the championship title, he also secured his first career MVP award.
The team entered the tournament with a strong sense of confidence, bolstered by recent successes including playoff appearances at a Major and a tournament in Astana. HUASOPEEK himself expressed feeling assured throughout the event, partly due to adapting to his new role as an entry fragger. He noted that previous struggles in this position had previously led him to feel his performances were unsatisfactory.
“We felt that we could win this tournament. We came in with good results, reaching the playoffs at the Major and in Astana, and that gave us a lot of confidence heading into this event. I think we were among the favorites to win, and we did it. For me, it’s incredible – my first tournament in China, and also my first MVP,” HUASOPEEK stated.
“I felt confident throughout the entire tournament. In Cologne, I learned a lot in my new role, as I am the entry fragger, and in past tournaments, I felt I performed poorly. I arrived at this tournament with a lot of confidence because I see many new things. It was a good tournament,” he added.
The team’s performance in Cologne, notably a victory against Vitality, whom HUASOPEEK regards as the greatest team in CS history, significantly boosted their morale.
“Of course, the result in Cologne helped a lot. And also the win against Vitality, which for me is the best team in CS history, gave us a lot of confidence both in Cologne and in this tournament,” the player concluded.
