HLTV has officially updated its Rating 3.0 algorithm to improve calculation accuracy in CS2. The database now includes over 29,000 maps, with more than 9,000 played on LAN.
Round Swing and Eco Adjustment win probabilities have been refreshed using all CS2 matches recorded up to September 29, 2026. Averages and standard deviations for sub-ratings were also recalculated based on LAN data up to the same date.
Several logic adjustments were introduced to refine how impact is measured. Kills no longer count toward Round Swing when under 10 seconds remain before a bomb explosion, or 5 seconds if a defuse kit is present, unless the CTs are actively defusing.
Additionally, residual swing distribution at the end of rounds with planted bombs now solely accounts for kills made after the plant. Players can no longer receive negative Round Swing values after securing a kill, and stand-ins are excluded from Round Swing calculations for rounds they did not play.
