Ukrainian tournament operator Galaxy Battle canceled two planned LAN events, Galaxy Battle LAN Station 1 and Galaxy Battle LAN Station 2, each with a $50,000 prize pool. The cancellation follows a series of setbacks, including a major rocket attack on Ukraine that damaged critical infrastructure belonging to their investor.
The tournaments were initially announced in May after Galaxy Battle secured a new investor to replace one who withdrew funding at the start of 2026. However, the July rocket attack forced the investor to pull out, leaving the company unable to proceed with the events despite exploring alternative funding options.
Galaxy Battle will continue operations while prioritizing financial obligations from past tournaments. The company remains committed to its mission but will not launch new projects until all existing commitments are fulfilled. They are still searching for a new strategic partner to support future plans.
“The cancellation of these tournaments is not the end of Galaxy. Throughout the project’s existence, we have overcome challenges. This is undoubtedly our toughest trial, but it does not define who we are. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Galaxy and believes in us,” Galaxy Battle said.
