Even after making his retirement intentions public, the veteran player experienced lingering doubts and shifting emotions from day to day. While some moments brought a desire to keep competing, others were defined by intense pressure.

“I was not 100 percent sure that I wanted to end my career, even after the announcement,” FalleN said.
