The BIG fan group Roaring Bears has threatened a potential boycott of IEM Cologne 2027 over mounting ticket prices and aggressive event monetization policies by ESL. Supporters expressed strong frustration with significant price increases and fees applied across nearly every aspect of the previous tournament holding Major status.

Particular outrage sparked from a 60 euro charge for a team autograph session booked without knowing which roster would participate. The fan group stressed that prices remain exceptionally high for next year despite the tournament losing its official Major status.

“We know that many fans cannot afford such prices,” Roaring Bears stated.

The collective emphasized that excessive commercialization damages the traditional community atmosphere and prices out loyal supporters. Members are currently discussing a complete refusal to attend the upcoming competition.

“That is why we are also considering a group-wide refusal to attend this event. We will discuss this with our participants and decide together how we want to react,” the group added.
